Usual suspects on our Bellyfit Instructor mixes, the Desert Dwellers have produced some of the most timeless world-fusion music ever created over the years. They have a dozen or more releases under Desert Dwellers and a few other project names such as Shaman’s Dream, Medicine Drum and Liquid Bloom.
In 2012, they’re planning their next release a bit differently than previous ones. Perhaps because in the past, the trio (plus lots of guest musicians) consisting of Rara Avis, Treavor Moontribe and Amani Friend, collaborated on their music in studio, but haven’t had the opportunity to create a live act and tour the world! The talent and creativity is there, and I’ve seen all three perform in Victoria, BC as solo DJs/live PA and they always bring a great energy and play very high quality music!
At Bellyfit, we love their music, and use it all the time in our various mixes. We totally want to have these guys make more music, so we can in-turn, license it for our use in Bellyfit classes!
