Who are you and what are your passions?
I am Margery, from Kamloops, BC. For many years I have shared with people the value of exercise and good eating. My professional background is in Fitness... Personal Trainer. My passions.... Basically to help people to have better lives... Pretty simple, but in essence, that is what it is. Having our health is like having one of the important keys to unlock the enjoyment in our lives and I have been fortunate enough in my life to have been provided with a great foundation of health supporting knowledge from my fore-mothers. Sharing the joy of physical well-being fuels me beyond words!
What do you love about teaching Bellyfit?
As a person who does not consider herself to be a dancer, I have loved the sensations and self expression of dance since childhood; from swirling about in a mad tempest to soothing, smooth moves. I love seeing women who come from a wide spectrum of dance ability or physical fitness equally enjoy and empower themselves through Bellyfit. Wide open smiles are what I love to see from my class!!!
What is the most common feedback you receive from your participants about Bellyfit?
The class was easier to follow and more fun than they thought it would be.
How do you feel that Bellyfit supports your lifestyle?
I have come to include components beyond simple exercise and nutrition as part of a healthy lifestyle. Attitude, outlook, seeing us all connected on this earth completes my sense of health. Bringing those feelings into an exercise class is a real feeling of "full circle".
What do you think are the qualities that make a great Bellyfit Instructor?
Caring for each person in front of you no matter how they look, sound or move. Greeting life with love in your heart!
What is the #1 thing women need to do to stay healthy and fit? (other than Bellyfit)
Find a way to believe in their worth. If they are "givers" then remind themselves that they are most effective when they have taken care of their needs first. So one thing I like to do now is to take about 30 minutes in the morning (before others arise) to read, listen to music or listen to something uplifting...then set an intention of how I will meet my day. In other words, set the tone for my day. Things seem to go so much better then.
Anything else you would like to add.
Bellyfit has been a great way to be surrounded with women who are uplifting. Not that we are all "head in the clouds" but we deal with what is in front of ourselves and then move on, living and laughing!
Margery teaches Bellyfit classes in Kamloops and on Saturday, Sept. 14th she will present Bellyfit at Women's Only Weekend (WOW).
