The last time you heard from us we were getting ready for Canada’s biggest fitness conference: CanFitPro Toronto
How was it?
Well, to be honest, it was much more education than anything.
Yes, our sessions rocked.
Yes, our booth was amazing (thanks to our ten incredible CREW Members who volunteered their time all weekend!).
And yes, we had a really wonderful time. Exhausting, but wonderful!
But what really struck me, was how incredibly unique, revolutionary, and individual Bellyfit® is within the fitness landscape.
Inside my own personal bubble, sometimes I don’t realize how much the world still needs our Body Lovin’ Message! Well, now I know! It REALLY needs it.
The primary message of the North American Fitness Industry is still focused on a completely unrealistic ideal of the female body and certainly not encouraging women to love their curves, celebrate their diversity or embrace their natural beauty! The message is still telling us to strive for a skin and bones silicon silhouette, and you’ll certainly be able to find that perfect whey supplement and lycra outfit to get you there.
So, in a sea (literally) of hyped up gadgets, guaranteed results, ballistic bouncing and spray tans, Bellyfit® was the black sheep, waving a flag of ‘Practice Radical Body Love’ and ‘Real is the new Sexy!’.
Were we well received?
You betcha!
There were tears in the eyes of some women who really GOT IT and who couldn’t express their gratitude enough. And the general feedback from our peers was that we are dominating the ‘women only’ niche and the world is waiting for us to shake up the global stage!
And with YOUR help, this is what we plan on doing!
From Toronto, the Bellyfit Team headed East to Quebec where they were hosted by three different studios! All classes were packed and full of beautiful, vibrant, enthusiastic women, and the piece de resistance was a fundraiser for Cancer with 180 tickets sold and $1300 raised for cancer research! Tres Bon!!!
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the path. We are already looking forward to next Summer!
Stay soft.
Keep it real.
And get radical!
Yours in truth,
alice
