I am Alexa Rae and my biggest passion is helping others! I have learned to live my life by the word PASSION and aid women to learn how beautiful they are inside and out!
I work as a psychiatric nurse in Whitby, Ontario, as well as running my own business PHAT2FIT that is an online motivational coaching program for women who need customized training and nutrition plans, along with 'inner beauty' exercises. The goal is to help women love their bodies and live a healthy lifestyle. In my spare time I am a fitness model and, after a journey of losing 80lbs I can now say I am also a figure champion
What do you love about teaching Bellyfit?
What do I not love about teaching Bellyfit! The thing I love the MOST would have to be the smiles that I bring to my ladies' faces when they are in class. When they are sweating buckets from the cardio run through and they are still smiling, you know you have done something right
What is the most common feedback you receive from your participants about Bellyfit?
The most common feedback is how they cannot believe that they sweated so much, worked so hard and yet STILL felt energized at the end of the class!
How do you feel that Bellyfit supports your lifestyle?
I teach Bellyfit on Wednesday nights and I always look forward to that day. Chad (my man) always says how much he loves when I come home from teaching class because, as he says it, "You are all zenned now." I used to be a professional dancer and now that I am a fulltime nurse and cannot dance all the time, Bellyfit helps my stay balanced in life and keeps me centered in all that I do.
What do you think are the qualities that make a great Bellyfit Instructor?
Of course good rhythm helps hehe! I believe that Bellyfit Instructors should have a good background on anatomy and how the body moves. Along with that, Bellyfit instructors need to believe in what they are teaching because it is not just a class, it is a movement and your ladies will know if you enjoy it or not
What is the #1 thing women need to do to stay healthy and fit? (other than Bellyfit)
Women need to learn a few things. Of course learning how to eat healthy, balanced meals helps. Cardiovascular and resistance training aid women with good heart health and building better bone density. The most important thing women need to know/learn is how to love their bodies for what they are TODAY and not TOMORROW....once a women learns this it will be easier for her to reach her goals in life. I have learned this and have never felt better! LOVE YOUR CURVES LADIES!!! xo
